What would you like to do in the next ten years?
I know most people know the general direction they want to go in life. Most people would say married, with 2.5 kids, a house with a white picket fence and a little dog that wears sweaters and such. I, on the other hand, want something bigger for myself. I want to travel, learn about different cultures, experience as many things as I can, help others, have many pets, write a book (if I ever get the idea for one, ha ha), become a Vet or a teacher or some profession I can do the most good in, inspire people, and be inspired by others. Even as a little kid I’ve known that marriage and children are very, very low on my priorities. I don’t want to be tied down somewhere. I’d make a horrible conventional wife and an even worse mother, to be honest. And to be perfectly blunt no man in his right mind would want to be married to me. I know that and I accept it. It’s okay. I don’t want that lifestyle anyways.
Fun fact: my dad and I actually have a legal contract written up that has $100 on whether or not I’ll get married. If I get married I owe him the money, when he dies and I’m not married I get the money. This contract was drafted when I was about 9, so at the time $100 seemed like a lot, ha ha.
